Overview

In this presentation, we will discuss how to apply artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to solve wireless communications problems in MATLAB. You will learn how to be more efficient by using ready-to-use algorithms and data generated with MATLAB and wireless communications products. We will provide an overview of AI-based design workflow and showcase application examples. Finally, we demonstrate how to leverage existing deep learning networks outside of MATLAB.

Program Highlights:

  • Generate training data in the form of synthetic and over-the-air signals using the Wireless Waveform Generator App.
  • Augment signal space by adding RF impairments and channel models to your generated signals.
  • Label signals collected from wireless systems using the Signal Labeler apps.
  • Apply reusable and streamlined training simulation, and testing workflows to various wireless applications using the Deep Network Designer and Experiment Manager apps.
  • Add custom layers to your deep learning designs.

                    Nestor Fernandez

            Senior Application Engineer

Nestor Fernandez is a MATLAB Application Engineer with a specialization in Language for Technical Computation (LTC), particularly for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science. He holds a Masters degree in Applied Science from the National University of Kaohsiung and a Physics undergraduate degree from the University of the Philippines Diliman. Nestor has a strong track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex technical problems. He has worked with companies like Petron, STEngineering, Analog Devices Inc among others to help automate and accelerate their workflows.  He regularly leads workshops and seminars for Universities in the Philippines and ASEAN region on how to use MATLAB and Simulink for research and education.
