This event introduces how MATLAB can be utilized and taught in the academic syllabus. MATLAB Fundamentals, Optimization, and Image Processing. Not limited to the fundamentals of MATLAB, the participants able to explore and understand Machine Learning introductory, the types, and a few samples of classification. Then the participants also will be exposed to the Deep Learning workflow, exploring pre-trained Neural Networks, and creating Deep Learning modeling from scratch for image data.

Morning Session: 9:00 am - 12.00 pm

In the morning session our presenter will cover best practices for using MATLAB to do the following:

  1. MATLAB Fundamentals 
    •    Working with MATLAB User Interface
    •    Data Visualization
    •    Analysis and Visualization with Vectors and Matrice

  2. Optimization
    •    Running an Optimization Problem in MATLAB
    •    Choosing a Solver
    •    Evaluating Results and Improving Performance

  3. Image Processing
    •    Applications of Image Processing
    •    Image Processing Workflow in MATLAB with example

 

Afternoon Session:  13:00 pm - 16:00 pm

In the afternoon session our presenter will cover best practices for using MATLAB to do the following:

  1. Machine Learning
    •    What Is Machine Learning?
    •    Types of Machine Learning
    •    Classification Learner Example
  2. Deep Learning
    •    Deep Learning workflow in MATLAB
    •    Explore pre-trained neural networks
    •    Create deep learning models from scratch for image data

  3. Simulating UAV in MATLAB/Simulink
    •    Simulate Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in MATLAB and Simulink using the UAV Library for Robotics System Toolbox
    •    Tuning Waypoint Follower for Fixed-Wing UAV

  4. Lidar Processing
    •    Acquiring live and offline data from Velodyne sensors
    •    Registering lidar point clouds
    •    Segmenting objects and detecting obstacles

Sruthi Geetha

Customer Success Engineer

 

 

Sruthi Geetha is a Customer Success Engineer at TechSource Systems, Singapore. She works to improve the adoption of MATLAB and toolboxes in universities around South East Asia. Prior to joining TechSource Systems, Sruthi was with MathWorks, the developer of MATLAB and Simulink software. She had spent 3 years at MathWorks, India, with experience in Customer Training, Customer Success Engineering and Technical Support.

Her expertise in MathWorks tools, and background in Controls and Instrumentation, has helped multiple customers build their technical applications. Sruthi received her Master of Technology in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, India and Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering.

She has built her forte in Data Analysis with MATLAB, Control Systems Design, Robotics, Model Based Design using Simulink and Simscape, MATLAB/Simulink Algorithm for Automatic Code Generation and Optimization with MATLAB

Siti Safwana

Application Engineer

 

 

Siti Safwana is an Application Engineer at TechSource Systems. She is specialized in the field of image processing, computer vision, machine learning and deep learning with MATLAB. Before joining TechSource Systems in 2018, she worked at Techloyce in Selangor as an CRM and ERP Consultant in IT field.

Siti Safwana holds a Meng in Science in Electronic from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka and BEng in Computer Communication System Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She doing research in computer vision field in domain of depth/disparity map and 3D reconstruction for her MEng project at UTeM under department of Faculty of Electronic and Computer Engineering.
