Radar System_29Sep21 (1)-2

Overview

Multifunction radars are increasingly relied on to perform functions beyond detecting, tracking, and classifying objects. The integration of electronically steered phased array front ends enables communications and signal analysis operations from the same system. The resulting system complexity drives the need for increased levels of modeling and simulation.

Challenges in Radar System

Highlights:

In this session, you’ll see how you can integrate your modeling and simulation work across the different phases of radar system development, starting with requirements analysis and moving through detailed design, testing, and deployment. You will learn how to use synthesized radar data to improve your design choices, how to share design models across organizations, and how to use testing data to shorten integration cycles. Using a practical example, you’ll also discover how to:

  • Perform link budget analysis and evaluate design trade-offs interactively with the Radar Designer app

  • Simulate radars using statistical models and signal-level models to ensure the best balance between fidelity and time

  • Model closed-loop, multifunction radars
