online workshop matlab programming and reinforcement learning

Overview

Techsource Systems, in collaboration with the School of Computing & Informatics (SCI), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), is pleased to present a series of workshops. These workshops are highly recommended for participants who are interested in joining the "Coding Challenge" as part of the UTB's Robotic Coding Contest 2023 (RCC 2023). By registering and attending these workshops, participants will gain essential knowledge and skills in designing and developing fundamental programming solutions.

The sessions:

Workshop 1 : Introduction to MATLAB (CLOSED)

13 June 2023 | 2:00PM - 5:00PM (GMT+8) | Via Zoom

This session introduces participants to MATLAB, covering its key features and capabilities. It provides a solid foundation for using MATLAB for various computational tasks, including variables, data types, mathematical operations, and plotting. Attendees will gain the necessary knowledge to start utilizing MATLAB effectively.

Highlights:

  • Import data into MATLAB
  • Pre-process, analyse, and visualize data
  • Capture and document your work in a script
  • Create interactive scripts and applications to share with others.

Workshop 2 : Introduction to Reinforcement Learning - part 1 (CLOSED)

19 June 2023 | 2:00PM - 5:00PM (GMT+8) | Via Zoom

Get an overview of reinforcement learning from the perspective of an engineer. Reinforcement learning is a type of machine learning that has the potential to solve some really hard control problems

Highlights:

  • What is reinforcement learning?
  • Understanding the environment and rewards
  • Policies and learning algorithms
  • The walking robot problem

Workshop 3 : Introduction to Reinforcement Learning - part 2 (CLOSED)

20 June 2023 | 2:00PM - 5:00PM (GMT+8) | Via Zoom

This workshop session explores challenges and solutions in using reinforcement learning for production systems. Topics include verifying learned solutions, overcoming challenges in multi-agent reinforcement learning, and comparing model-free and model-based approaches. Gain practical knowledge and insights for effective implementation.

Highlights:

  • Overcoming the practical challenges of reinforcement learning
  • An introduction to multi-agent reinforcement learning
  • Why choose model-based reinforcement learning
